Kinetics

After having a talk with one of my tutors on Thursday, Kieran Whitehall,  my thought process has sort of gonna a little.... how do  say it?... kinetic? Kieran suggested to me that i start to experiment with kinetic art and see where that takes my thought process. He also said to me that i should try working with clay, may to for a ceramic piece of work, (i had intended to use ceramics to try and help visualize my ideas, initially to begin with, but it was good to know we were on a similar wave length)

I am unsure as to what to do with my project at present, though I have a few ideas. One of which is to make a kinetic influenced model.

Kinetic Art is really amusing, yet can be an annoyance to ones eyes. They can be also hypnotizing.

Here is an example of what I mean. It's one of those things that is eye catching and has you staring at it for time on end.

Do you notice the way the image seems to be pulsating? How about this following image? Can you see the way the image seems to tick like a clock?

 

One such artist of Kinetics is Marchel Duchamp. He became interested in Kinetics in 1915 when he created his first work, with the assistance of Man Ray,

I am currently looking for a way to create this type of art work.  Does anyone have any ideas on how to do such a thing?
