So, I have started making things out of clay (pictures below) and I am pleased with the results as I have never used the wheel before and have never coiled in the way that I was shown by one of my tutors. I made 8 pieces and currently I am awaiting them to be fired in the kiln.
As part of my project I thought it would be important to experiment by using clay as I have an interest in ceramics. Also you can do many things to manipulate the clay into various shapes and I found it a good way to try and represent the vibrations in water.
Currently I am working on my other idea of using paint to represent how chaotic vibrations can be.
This idea is based around a box, made with MDF, that is painted white on the inside and has 4 or 5 elastic bands threaded through it. The idea is to use different coloured paints to help represent how an elastic band will vibrate after someone pulls it, when paint is on it, and then lets go causing the paint to spray everywhere within the box. I may even record this from the side of the box and try and slow it down to show clearly how truly chaotic the vibrations are.
